Three years ago, a young 15-year old played for Southampton FC in the XXIV edition of our traditional tournament. His name was Luke Shaw, and he is only the latest top player, who has set his mark at the top Scandinavian tournament for U17 and U19 talents.
This year´s edition sees some interesting new teams, and also a welcoming back others.
Moreover, we are very proud to have Scandic Hotels as our partner in this year´s edition. A quality chain of hotels, where Hotel Scandic Eremitage in the heart of Lyngby will see one third of the participating teams as their guests.

This year, we are looking forward to seeing the high quality of one of the top teams of Scandinavia – Rosenborg from Norway. With the defending U19 cup holders of Malmö FF not participating this year, the title is out there to have. Also top Danish team from Århus – AGF – have decided to test their best young talents again in Scandic Cup after some years´ absence. A warm welcome to them as well.
As so many times before, new teams have decided to participate. Among the new teams are Tromsø from Norway and Hansa Rostock from Germany. We are thrilled to see that our tournament can continue to attract new clubs as well.
”With a very strong network of clubs spread all over Europe and beyond, we again have been in the fortunate situation, where we can choose between many interested clubs” Martin Felbo claims and continues:
”We have chosen a good mixture of Danish clubs mixed with foreign clubs from five different countries and are certain, that Scandic Cup 2014 will provide quality football to the many spectators, who are traditionally staging the tournament”
